Competition Rules & Procedures

• The County Secretary shall issue Competition Notices and Entry Sheets to all clubs at least six weeks prior to the Competition date.
• Member clubs should return their Competition Entry Sheets, accompanied by the correct Entry Money (cheques only, payable to Stirlingshire Golf Union), to the County Secretary no later than three weeks prior to the date of the Competition (this date will be specified on the Competition Entry Sheet).
• Club Secretaries are responsible for verifying the entrants correct handicap on the Entry Sheet and that the entrant is eligible as a member of a Stirlingshire Golf Union Member Club or Golf Society.
• The County Secretary shall make and issue the Competition Draw to all member clubs at least eight days prior to the date of the Competition.
  There will be no refund of Entry Fees of cancelled entries received after the draw has been issued
• a) If a Competition is over subscribed priority will be given to players with the lowest handicap, following which a ballot will be held of those tying on handicap to decide the final entrants. Players balloted out will be placed on a reserve list, and in the event of cancellations prior to the date of the Competition, players on this list will be contacted by the County Secretary.
  Balloted out players who are on the Reserve List may appear on the day of Competition to take up any available spaces.
  b) If a Competition is under subscribed, late entries will be accepted, at the discretion of the County Secretary, up to the Thursday prior to the Competition. Such Entries will be placed in the Draw Sheet to facilitate the continuity and smooth running of the Competition.
  No late entries may be accepted on the day of the Competition.
• The County Secretary will ensure that players balloted out of the Spring Meeting, Autumn Meeting and the County Seniors Competition will not be balloted out of these competitions the following year. This will also apply to the Summer Foursomes Competition provided it is the same playing combination.
• All competitors must play off their current handicap on the day of the competition irrespective of that stated on the Entry Sheet and subject to the following
  a) Should a player’s handicap move above the handicap band of the Competition then the player must play off the maximum handicap of that Competition.
  b) Should a player’s handicap move below the handicap band of the Competition then the player must play off their current handicap
• Players must register to the County Official on duty at least 15 minutes prior to their published Tee-off times, and report to the Starter, ready for play, at least 10 minutes prior to their published Tee-off times. Failure to comply will result in the player(s) losing their Tee-off time.
• Players who cannot attend must advise the County Secretary prior to the competition date. If problems arise on the day of the competition, players should contact the County Official on duty at the competition venue prior to their Tee-off time. Failure to comply with these requirements will result in the offending player(s) being automatically banned from entry to the corresponding competition in the following year.
• The manner in which trophies and prize vouchers, sweep monies etc. will be awarded will be detailed on the competition notice.
